Dark Wood Paneling can be Cool

Dark wood paneling can make a room feel, well, dark.

It definitely gets a bad rap. Well deserved, because it brings to mind ugly musty basements of the 1970s.

And although you are still hearing on every home decorating show on television today still has designers telling everyone to paint everything white, dark wood paneling can be super cool.

All of these gorgeous wood paneled rooms has us rethinking the fixer-upper bathroom makeover. We went white but what if we kept it brown?

Does this get you rethinking the paneling in your home? If so, here are some things that just might help with your design decision.

We’re Emma Carole Paradis and Kimberly Carole, the owners and designers of Impeccable Nest, based in Bedford, New Hampshire. A mother-daughter team with a love of design. Originally from Manhattan Beach, California, now based in Bedford, New Hampshire, we bring a Southern California cool and New England tradition to our design. Not only do we work together…we also live together in a multi-generational home…and a home that they are known to design for others.
