We are in love.

We’ve totally upleveled these @ralphlaurenhome lamps with basic white shades. And it’s a new launch! We are ordering a few more for ourselves because...they add a little more texture to a space, warmth and customize all lamps. It’s cozy, and there’s lots of room for the kids to dump their legos out on the floors. Actually, it’s a room we all like to lounge and relax in.

Imagine some pink martini or Chopin playing in the background...nothing but collected coziness here.

Do you ever just sit in a space and think, i love everything here.

We certainly have those moments. This is one of them.

This room was meant to be a few other things, we even planned on having our kitchen here before it became a sitting room.

And it used to be a hodgepodge of furniture, but now? It’s really come together and one of our favorite spots in the house.

Truthfully, I think it really came together when we found this massive art piece when thrifting one day. It’s huge...and it fills the wall perfectly. And it’s original art...not a print.

But, I’m taking a moment today to enjoy this spot...and all the colors it has on this rainy day. But...I’m not sure what’s the best part of this spot...is it:

The fresh cut sunflowers?
The giant artwork?
Or our coral colored candelabra?

Sometimes you just have to go for it. Last year

Sometimes you just have to go for it.

Last year the dining room was the room we went for. We jumped into the @oneroomchallenge at the mid point and decided to completely finish the space.

We are so glad we did.

It went from basic, boring and kind of blah to pure magic. I’m not even sure what is my favorite piece in here. The wallpaper? The table? Lighting? The lighting was actually my least favorite thing in the space (believe it or not!), but now I love it!

I wonder how many of you have a room (or many rooms) in your house that feels kind of blah? We all have them...don’t you think it’s time to give them a little love?

As designers, we are always yammering on and on about the ceiling and how you should think of it as another wall in a room.

Although we get it, it isn’t usually the “wall” that gets immediate attention.

And...Don’t tell anyone, but yes, we have ceilings that we have never gotten around to doing anything with...yet...

But, when we do...we actually follow Our Best Design Advice (you can get a copy on our website!) and include the ceiling as part of a room design. You can see why! It is just magic!
