Giving Back: Playroom for a Cause Mood Board Monday
Let’s create a playroom…together.
Last Friday we shared about an information that is near and dear to us, one where we give back. Today, we are sharing what WE are responsible for, and how WE can work together to create a beautiful space. Again, we are working with Building on Hope to renovate the Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire (CCCNH) to rebuild a facility that is falling apart and not servicing the community it needs to service. This is an old building that provides services and shelter for women and children that are leaving domestic violence situations and trying to rebuild their lives. And important and wonderful organization that gives way more than it receives.
But today it all changes.
We will start renovations in 3 short weeks. An entire building will be gutted, renovated and then revealed by May 20th, 2018. Yes, it’s our own version of Extreme Home Makeover, but for community organizations. In fact, CCCNH is also moving their offices at the same time we are rebuilding the shelter in order to house more families. Either way, there is a lot of change and transition to occur in the next few weeks. This is our third renovation, and each one has been totally different. The space we have for CCCNH is totally in our wheelhouse at the moment: a Playroom. Here’s the “before”:
A Playroom for all.
There are challenges to this space (like every room and project). Problem No. 1: Storage. The space is fairly small, and storage is a PRIORITY. Problem No. 2: Age of clients. Since this is a space that caters to kids of all ages, we have to be mindful of that when creating a “playroom.” Here’s what we’ve proposed (a little behind the scene design process):
Many Hands Make Light Work.
Here’s how you can help. We need to buy some accessory items for this space, and this organization runs on donations. If you are interested in helping us buy these products, we’ve included a link with each request, and ask that you send us an email (design@impeccablenestdesign.com) so we can cross them off our list as we receive donations, and include shipping information.
Building on Hope JUST happens to coincide with the first year of each of my children. It’s been amazing to share this experience with them, and have them witness Impeccable Nest giving back to our community. This is why we are involved in this community; it’s about family. We are so grateful to work together as a team, and have my children present as we work on these projects. Sharing what we do is so important, and we are so appreciative for the opportunity to renovate CCCNH and create a playroom for the residents there.
What do you do when you have to design around an oversized piece of art or furniture? Well, we decide to go bold. Much like we did with this BOLD BESPOKE mood board for a client. This design was for an office, and an oversized painting of Clint. How do you make it the centerpiece…
Let's get inspired by them Alps! Clean lines, hygge (hoo-ga: cozy) and pine (all day), create the ultimate alpine attitude for this mood board Monday. It feels like it's time to take a trip down the bunny slopes, or at least sit fireside with a (spiked) hot chocolate! That's impeccable.
Ladies and Gentlemen...go out and buy yourself a Fiddle Leaf Fig plant for this week's Mood Board MONDAY! We are talking about Urban Enchantment, and what's better than upping your green game inside your home? Add twinkle lights. Mix in some wood elements, and vintage. Et, voila! You've created an enchanting urban oasis. That's impeccable.
