Now everyone that knows me knows I wanted a flock of females for our nest. Yes, I will love him dearly. But whenever I imagined being a mother, it was to daughters.
I wanted girls to talk about love, loss, choices, life goals and struggles. Share the womanhood journey. I wanted my daughters to have each other to continue a lifelong companionship and our FEMPIRE.
Now as I spend these last few months getting myself ready for this unexpected adventure of raising a son, I have to admit I can’t wait to meet him. Whatever the challenge, he will show me a different world: a world through the eyes of a mother of a son. But don’t worry, what I am most excited for is how his sisters will show him a world of strong bold females and help shape him into the man I hope him to be.
Oh and if you were wondering.
Just like his sisters, Prudence Sparrow and Odette Starling, he will indeed have a bird for his middle name.
Give us a shout if you think of a good name. Or cast your vote for your favorite.
I can’t promise that we will honor your choice, but we would love to hear from you.
We’ll need all the support we can get, as we raise three children under 5 and continue to keep our nest growing strong. It takes a village, that’s for sure, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
