List of Fave Resources for Shelter in Place Sanity.
Wow. It’s hard to keep our COVID sanity in check.
But…we have to. So we’ve created a list of the things that are helping us to keep it all together. It’s not easy. No, no, no…just like you, we have everyone working and living all under one roof. And kids! Yes, all three kids running around, not allowing us a break, or an escape. Yep, we are all on the edge some days, but we have found some really great things to help us.
Avocado Toast.
For sure, we have usually used Everything but the Bagel seasoning on our avocado toasts. But the shelter in place has pushed us to search for other interesting ways to up the daily snack. This tajin seasoning has been the perfect little zing we’ve needed. It’s a game changer for your everyday avocado toast.
Hot Water with Lemon.
Again, trying to create good habits and routines. We welcomed the start of this with a little “business as usual,” but as the days continued and got longer it became time that we made the best of it. Why not begin the day with some hot water with lemon? We always hear about its benefits, so why not. And you can enjoy your morning like us and even #shareacupwithimpeccablenest. Be sure to tag us!
Coffee. Lattes. Cappuccinos at home.
We love coffee. And we’ve always loved our Nespresso. But we really, really, REALLY love it now. From our morning cup, to our afternoon latte, and our end of day cappuccino, it is so easy to enjoy staying at home with this luxury. Also, be sure to sign up for the monthly delivery/recycling program too! Plus, we are going to order these glass mugs to admire the layers.
Weekend Waffles.
We’ve been doing this for a long time, but the design hubby has been making Belgian waffles for the family every Saturday for years. This is something we love, and is one of the best investments we’ve made for our kitchen and family. Spending so much time together these days, and a special treat makes it all the more memorable. This waffle maker is simply the best. And don’t forget the waffle mix!
Loungewear.
You’ve seen Emma wearing her loungewear every evening, and there’s no time like the present to find a bit of pleasure in some great loungewear or caftans. Take time, enjoy the little luxuries that you have. Here’s some of our favorites.
Clean Crafted Wine.
We aren’t completely without any vices. We’ve signed up for this service a few months ago, and love the idea of promoting biodynamic wines, and limiting preservatives that we are consuming. This company is promoting clean crafted wines. Get yours…delivered to your front door. Plus, there is a new white wine spritzer available! Can’t wait.
A daily face regimen.
We aren’t beauty bloggers, but we have decided to give into the process of maintaining a beauty regimen. We’ve chosen some cream cleansers, retinol, vitamin C…the whole shebang. We’ve gone with the La Roche-Posay facial program to get us through.
We have been trying to keep some sort of healthy eating habits and not fall face first into take-out. It’s hard but setting the table and using the nice dishes has really done a world of good for our mental health. Whether it’s alcoholic drinks or not (like a la rusa!), taking the extra step to use a nice glass cheers us up each day.
Here are some classy drink ware you might want to add to your everyday:
Bralettes
Honestly, we have barely been getting dressed. We know what all the experts have been saying about this but comfort has been everything. These True & Co. bralettes we found at Target have been fabulous, better than nothing.
Scooters.
The kids LOVE these scooters. We LOVE these scooters. Your kids will LOVE these scooters. Order one today…plus, they have some fancy additions to make them feel special. We bought them after we saw all the kids riding around on them in NYC when Prudence was 3. There are so many great memories.
Cloth napkins.
We aren’t forgetting about the environment while all of this is going on. In fact, it is allowing us to think more clearly about HOW we want to live. Enjoy dinner while using the fancy china and cloth napkins. Using cloth napkins not only makes our meals feel more formal…it also will help our environment. And if we learn anything during this crisis, isn’t it that every little bit helps?
Scarves à la Dr. Deborah Birx.
Obviously we are obsessed with the news. But one thing that has been a breath of fresh air, has been watching Dr. Deborah Birx and her scarves. She’s bringing it…every single day. And we want to be just like her when we start to get dressed again. May you all find some peace in checking out the newest way she ties her scarf today.
Here are some scarves we would love to start rocking, they even assist with social distancing when we need to come out during essential errands.
But you know what is really getting us through? Talking with YOU…every night. We’ve been going live on Instagram at 9pm to talk design…answer your questions and be your person during this crisis. But you know what? You’ve been helping us too…YOU are our person. Thank you.
Oh, and be sure to get Our Best Design Advice too! xoxo
