How to decorate with Salvage Finds

We love to decorate with salvage finds.

Whatever you want to call it. Think Joanna Gaines or our newest salvage find designer, Leanne Ford.

It can be cool, modern, and beautiful. Most of all, they give your home that “One-Of-A-Kind.” look we all crave. You can take a plain box of a room and give it architectural detail and patina. Oh! And whimsey.  Never underestimate the power of a little bit of a whimsical element.

The unexpected.

Besides the hunt is just so damn fun. So many great places to visit and stories to tell while you’re hunting for salvage.  Grab a friend, make a plan and go hunting.  Or check out this post about designing with salvage (and a great book to get too!).

Speaking of hunting for salvage…

We recently went on the hunt for some cornices to embellish a salvaged beam we planned to add in a kitchen remodel. The kitchen lacked some architectural detail and we thought this old beam would add that perfect bit of detail we are looking for.  Here’s what we found:

Aren’t they beautiful?

Just remember to channel your inner designer goddess, and make your house unique with a salvage find.  You’d be amazed how easy it is to incorporate a door, window or corbel into your home.  Or check out how we created our own art out of salvaged finds.

That's Impeccable!

  1. Combing through the treasures in salvage yards is one of my favorite pastimes. It looks like you found some awesome corbels! Nice resource!

    1. It is one of our favorite things to do. We encourage our clients to introduce something vintage or salvaged into their designs. So glad you enjoy too!
