Floor lamp made from salvaged column

We bring home most things architectural
especially if they are along the roadside marked FREE!
Old wood, detailed carvings, chipped worn off paint these objets of art fill our basement waiting to make that special space come life. Mixing old with new is layered collected look we are all trying to balance. Not too shabby but oh so chic.

Our basement has been busting at the seams lately with columns. On their own they are oh so perfect but we recently need a one of a kind floor lamp and a lightbulb went off. We think you will like the result. The hardest part is finding the right height column so you don’t have to cut them down to size but if you have to we think it will work too just make sure you reattach the bases, you don’t want to lose all of that beauty.

We may do some additional sprucing like dry brush paint…maybe, maybe not.
We kinda like the raw look.
This is def something we will do again and again.
That’s impeccable.
