Building on Hope Update: There is still time to give!
It’s build week for Building on Hope!
But no worries, there is still time to give!
First, here is the update on the project. The exterior work has been completed and the interior drywall and flooring is done. Our playroom has the storage bench, corner storage unit with desk, and TV storage unit installed. The outside deck railing has been installed. Everything is set to get painted over the next couple of days. We hope to be in the room this Friday…
Then we will begin our decorative painting…
We had planned for wallpaper or even a stencil, but we scratched those plans because of time and the old “funds are low” reality. So we are not quite sure what we will be doing, but we plan to look through all of our crafts stuff and come up with something. I mean, the reveal is on Sunday morning! We just can’t have plain white walls, that just isn’t “impeccable”. Good thing, we love the challenge of trying to do something with nothing and it helps that the space is small. Although anything is smaller than our 5000 sqft. boxing/fitness room on the last Building on Hope project.
What can we say, we just love a good challenge.
Stay tuned for what we decide to do here.
That said, we have gotten so much support and donations from everyone. Thank you so much. This cannot be done without each and every donation. In fact, we thought it might be cool to show you a few of the things we have purchased with your donations and share a few things still on our wish list.
This Opalhouse chair at Target. And we are totally crushing on them too…they’re stackable, and perfect for outdoors.
A colorful outdoor rug, for a boho feel.
Poufs. I mean…who doesn’t love them!
Aren’t these outdoor pillows great? If you follow us on instagram, you’ve seen our antics on stories. If you don’t, follow our adventures here!
Colorful storage bins for lots of toys and storage.
Garden stools MAKE EVERY SPACE!
Here are a few more items on our wish list:
An outdoor settee to fill the balcony space, and allow for more seating ($249.99)
Baskets. ‘Nuf said.
Plants! Because why have a space that encourages women to find a NEW space and life, without infusing life into the room? Greenery is a great way to add life to any space.
Looking forward to sharing the reveal with you all next week. It’s really shaping up to be an amazing project. If you’ve missed some of our other posts, check them out here, here, and here.
An Outdoor Patio for Building on Hope Yep, we almost forgot, but part of our Build on Hope project requires an outdoor patio area for moms. This area (shown above) is located off the playroom and is an escape for mothers. Therefore, we have designed the space to include an outdoor area that has a…
Wow, what a weekend.... Honestly, what an amazing, exhausting, emotional week. Building on Hope is a truly inspirational experience. I can't believe what we accomplished in just one week. This project has been declared Miracle on Beech Street. For sure, it is. Sunday was the big reveal. It brings such hope for the world when…
Giving back: What is Building on Hope? Building on Hope started out as a conversation between two friends. In the midst of the 2008 recession, it was clear that non-profits were struggling to keep their doors open and provide necessary services to the people that needed them most. They asked the question: "Wouldn't it be…
